In honor of Davy Jones, I was trying to think of other bands that were created out of TV or Movies that actually put out some pretty good music after the initial project dissolved. The first one that came to mind (strangely enough) was The Time. Just in case you forgot, it was the band that Prince put together for his movie, Purple Rain. They were meant to be his rivals in the film, but they became an outlet for him to experiment with different types of songs. The Time made 3 or 4 solid albums before Prince pulled the plug on the project. Prince can do no wrong in my eyes (or ears)! Cool Also, the Blues Brothers were pretty damn awesome. I mean - Steve Cropper - Come on! That man is a beast!

Of course, there are also Spinal Tap, Metalocalypse, Infant Sorrow (Get Him To The Greek), but they never went on to be considered "real working bands." Any thoughts?

Im throwing my vote out for Steel Dragon from the movie Rockstar. A 80's hair metal celebration - haha. I think it received horrible reviews too. But it's one of those movies I watch it everytime I see it on TV....not really sure why that is???

I liked the ONEders!! My wife always hates it when I watch that movie - the song drives her crazy. I LOVE it!!
