That's such a great song. We tried to do it in our rockabilly band, The Cheap Dates, back in '89 or '90. I see Brian has dropped the key down a few steps as he's gotten older

that was the only way he could do the song live. He literally said it was a bitch to pull it off in the studio and never did it as the Straycats live.. I believe he's done it with his falcon tuned down though in recent yrs, I'll have to check the Rumble in Brixton DVD.. but the entire legacy of the spectrasonic came about because Tvjones had built this for Setzer's then Guitar Tech and master of tone "Rich Modica". When Setzer picked it up and got to strummin, he said he was taking it on tour and thats what we're seeing above. Shortly after, Gretsch licensed it from Tom and that trio of Lead, C melody Baritone, and Bass came to be. Obviously gone now and back in the hands of the brain behind it

I think the recorded version is in Eb, so I bet he was tuning down from the get-go. Imagine doing that in E!
