'73 fender quad reverb
i have a '73 fender quad reverb thats been chopped and turned into a head...a few years back i left the head and the cab i was using..an ampeg..at a freinds for a bit..and when i got it back..it had been just robbed and gone through...somebody even took the reverb tank out of it!!!!!and the cab was gone...anyhow..enough of the sad story...im having the head redone right now and i need a cab...the amp runs at 4ohms...and im having real trouble finding speakers that run a 4ohms...i want to use celestion vintage 30's..they are at 8 or 16...the fender quad is really a twin..but with 4 12's as a combo...i would rather run it through a 2 12 cab...im wanting to do this right...so any info would be good about what to do....thanks so much

Not that the v30s wouldn't sound great also...I just want an excuse to use some Weber Californias. They sound SO good!

4-ohms? Out of one jack? I didn't realize that Fender just used the regular 4-ohm Twin Transformer
That aside, you can get a 4-ohm load with 4x16-ohm Celestions. It's the same wiring pattern as a 4x10 bassman or Super Reverb, which uses 4x8-ohms for a 2-ohm total load.
If you want to run it as a 2x12 Twin, use 2x8-ohm speakers for a 4-ohm load.
